i got tons and tons and tons and tons and tons of work done today. LABIEW for motors is DONNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I conqured it!! your going down labview. all the motors work with labview and we got the new dongle is in heck yess!!! I would like to thank the acadamy, my mom and dad, ann the vegan, and may
we also went to the u or r. it was cool. i really liked when they drained the blood from the mouse. SWEET!

hahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha
Today, i gave the tour to the U of R students. It went well, except i dropped a speaker, i blame Joe Pow. I finally got labview to work all of the motors at once. The com ports finally now can be specified from the user inputs. All thats left is to put everything togther. The camera is ready to be calabrated.
PS when ann(the vegan) was downloading software she fell asleep and fell of the chair lol hahahahhahahahahaha

AHHHH i broke the computer!!!!!!!!!!
Today i programmed the goniometer in labview so now it can move all in labview instead of movements scattered throughout other files. Now its only in 1!!!! Ann (the vegan) was video taped today, she screwed up BRDF. she forgot the R. Not good ann (the vegan) not good. At the end of the day Gretchers came and visited. and I LOVE ROBOTS!
What did we do yesturday??
Yesturday, we programed the goniometer to remeber it exact location where it went to last so in case there was a power outage it could remeber where it is. It measures its distance away from zero so when it homeseeks it goes CCW or CW depending on witch side of zero it is located.
Then ann and i went to an eyetracking experiement and i took forever!!!!! eyes creep me out. we wnt ther at like 4:20 and i didnt get out until 5. it was kinda cool but my contacts dried out fast

Today, ann and I tested two lasers with the spectrometer so we could tell the difference between them. Then we started our lab report about the testing we did with the goniometer. We included all of graphs, tables, and we used mays research paper as a templet.
When ann and i went to go visit Zoran with the laser we came across milfred. Milfred is a miliped with a huge dust glob attacted to it. then we went upstairs to get something and then when we came back down she was still there!!!!!!!

Holy Henrietta good thing i tinkled

Today may and I sat down to finally get new code implemented in labview. We need the 3 motors that we use to remember their position that they were in even if we cycle the power, so it can home seek at the end of all of its routines. We ended up spending a couple hours trying to get the registry working in the motors original test code. The offsets for the motors needed to be reset, but after a while of working through the program we figured out a way for the program to select the angle measure we wanted from the long line of data.
After lunch I ordered a new dongle it cost a whole $95 freakin dollars, holy crap what a rip off, its just a piece of plastic with a simple circuit board inside!!!!!!!!!! All they r good for is breaking!!!!!!! Then we heard a large clatter from roof, we went up to the roof, it was santa clause, just kidding it was the thunderbirds, gosh your so gullible

Its raining men
This man has a poncho, i am very jelous cause it raining i deffinatly need a ponchoToday i went to a talk about forest fires and how people take measurements on them. They also talked about bats. He said he didnt like bats and that they were ugly, but i like bats they r hard core man. Ann (the vegan) said hes ugly. Then I went to the lunch talks, because they feed for free (i had cheese pizza cause i dont like peperoni, ann doesnt eaither she says it gives her gas). They projected 5 screens at once i got scared because they animated them and things were flying everywhere and i thought someone was gonna have a seizure. After lunch, I programed the goniometer to remember its previous posion with fancy labview code(copy and paste).
Then all of a sudden there was large crashing noises. I thought the sky was falling. It turns out that it was downpooring!!!!!!!!!!!! oh crap i need a poncho.

Laura the musical feat. Ann (the vegan)

Today i went to Bausch and Lomb, i cant say anything or i might get shot.
Then we went to a sub shop and i got a spicy chicken sub, ann cant eat that shes vegan, she also cant eat glycerin poor girl. Then i got back to my lab and helped identify lasers by their wavelength for zoran, using a spectrometer. So we wanted to listen to music but there was a slight problem, we kinda had no speakers. So ann had the bright idea to steal them from another room. So now we r listening to pandoras box, had some pretty good songs, like the backstreet boys songs and mucha muchacha (best freaking song ever the lyrics r so deep and inspiring)
mucha muchacha
hello muchacha
oh, hello muchacha
no no, me muchacho,
you muchacha
you know, like, me tarzan, you jane?
me muchacho
you muchacha
you muchacho
me muchacha
mucha muchacha!!
the we went on a field trip to find zoran to return his lasers, but there wass also a slight problem, ann didnt remember where his lab was. So we wandered the halls aimlessly for a while carry a ginormous load of laser goodies like an insecure school girl. Then ann drop a baggie that was labeled warning on the floor and when we were heading back to get it some random guy came out of his room and grabbed it and walked away before we could get it from him. how rude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Richard

This is Richard, i think, he is a bitflow talker person
Today was especially riviting. I talked on the phone with an asian guy named Richard from the Bitflow company about how the software was not connecting the camera to the software. This phone call was filled with many perils. First, the phone was crackly and combined with the accent communication was scarcely interpeated into actually english. Beyond that we managed to try at least 15 the system FAILEDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!! Then we were in the middle of trying a different way to get it to work when the phone that has been sitting on the charger allllllllllllll night DIED, it DIED! So we called back on Mays Blackberry, that poor girl at the receptionist desk, i think she thought we were stalking poor richard chin cause we called so much, when we were put through thing were looking quite bleak. so we went to lunch, including richard and when we got back from lunch to call richard he was still out to luch!! the audacity!!!!! but he eventually came back and he said it would be fasted if we just sent him everything, now that makes me think he is calling us slow or something, what the heck here is there no such thing as customer service anymore GOSH! so we stuffed everything into a tiny FedEX book with bubble wrap and 8 packing peanuts, we also wrote fra-g-le, on the box, but we did not have a leg lamp in there. now i feel incomplete without the poor poor camera trapped in a cold dark box on the way to Red Sox loving liberal massachuetts, can you tell I am a Yankees fan conservative!!!
Oh and i forgot for lunch i had mini muffins yum!!! (chocolate chippy) and a ham sandwitch w/ swiss cheese and mustard (the best condimate ever) poor ann she cant have ham sandwitches but she can put tofu on instead DELICIOUS!!!!!!
in case you were wondering:
BRDF stands for----- Bidirectional Reflectance Distribution Function
Goniometer is an acual work look it up
Dongle is also a work repeat above action except use the word dongle and not Goniometer
Spectrometers are fun YAY!

OH GLORY
awsomeness
when i got here i opened the door to my blackkkkkkkkkkk room with my key card swiper thing!!!!!! i walked in the room and turned on the computer. I got on aim to see if may was here yet. then i started looking at IMSterm to redownload the programs 0nto all 3 of the motors. here is an example
' Sample Stage Stepper Controller' Original: 6/14/05 by Gary DiFrancesco' Modified: 7/3/07 by May Arsenovic' *For use with motor #2'' Declare Program VariablesVA ts 'Angle between src and smpl normal, (to smpl norm)VA sc 'New angle (ts) converted to stepper countsVA sr=10240 'Microstep resolution 10240 microsteps/stage deg.' This is the program that makes our sample stage run. Then most of the morring Ann(the under paid incomming freshman, that is vegan) and I collected data on the robustness of each motors by making them execute extreme angles and then they had to go 5 increments a time to test the accuracy of each motor. Then we graphed each motors outcome in excel. Then I went to lunch and i had a salad w/ italia dressing and chi chi beans and manderain oranges. I sat w/ a bunch of the incomming freshman honor students 1 is from texas and one got hit by a car. They both ate fish, i hate fish. Then i got back to my cold dark lair. I finished typing the report and then ann got back from the class she went to about a book she didnt read. Then we whipped out the old pulnix accupixal camera and tried to get it communicating w/ labview. We took lots of videa and pictures of our selves and randomly ran labview programs designed by the cameras company but most of them suck, but we got a few to work. Now we need a way to save the pictures/movie files we create cause labview wont let us. Now I am typing this extensivly researched blog and then I am going to learn how to correctly write a lab report. Then I will drive home in my poniac G5 and maybe ill go see the new batman movie cause it look really good. peace out
